Daydreaming, forgetfulness, going from one project to another without finishing any of them, impulsive behavior, speaking out of turn, and temper tantrums are expected behavioral signs of immaturity in children, teens, and adults. For the individual with ADHD these symptoms are persistent and limiting in the development of personality and coping skills. Individual, marital, and family therapy focused on learning new ways to manage emotions, handle stress, and develop interpersonal skills is helpful in gaining the confidence that has been lacking. A collaborative relationship between the client, therapist, and psychiatrist speeds up progress and facilitates a better quality of life by allowing more effective management of emotional stress.
Problematic anger is anger that lasts longer, is more intense, or is more frequent than desired. We offer individual therapy to address this issue.

Anxiety is one of the most treatable disorders. The treatment of anxiety is two-fold.
First the client learns new ways to reduce anxiety through awareness of physical symptoms, irrational thinking patterns, and lifestyle factors that contribute to stress and anxiety.
Next, through therapy, the client learns to identify their anxiety symptoms and implement relaxation techniques to manage the anxiety. Learning vital stress skills allows for a sense of control and mastery of life.
Feelings of sadness, despair, hopelessness, guilt, sleep disturbances, or changes in appetite are symptoms of depression if they persist for weeks or months. Mood swings with feelings of inappropriate euphoria, unrealistic planning for the future, or period of time marked by excessive spending, volatile anger, sleep deprivation and paranoia can be signs of bipolar disorder. Depression and Bipolar Disorder are considered mood disorders with a biochemical basis, and require medical treatment. With medication, education, and lifestyle adjustments, it is now possible to live a life free of devastating mood swings. Treatment begins with a thorough assessment, evaluation for medication and therapy to help the client realize the quality of life they have not been able to obtain.
Anorexia, Bulimia, and Compulsive Eating are all unhealthy relationships with food that cause physical and psychological problems. We offer individual treatment in an outpatient setting. Regain control of your life.
Personal growth, balance, and healing are aspects of healthy living that we all seek. Sometimes the changes you want to make are not the result of a psychiatric disorder. One of the things you can count on in life is change. Being resilient and adaptive to change gives us an entirely different and more positive outlook on the future. A psychotherapist can help you to become more self-aware, heal old wounds, achieve balance and open up whole new dimensions in your life.
We all experience challenges in our relationships from time to time. Therapy provides a safe, neutral environment in which to talk through these problems, find solutions, and make changes. Learn better communication skills, learn to problem solve, and improve your relationships.
Stress is a contributing factor in heart disease, strokes, diabetes, auto-immune disorders, and many other health issues. We all have stress, but if it effects your health or relationships then it becomes an issue. We offer a holistic approach to dealing with stress that provides our clients with the skills to better manage their stress and their lives.
Trauma is any event in your life that exceeds your ability to cope. Feelings of helplessness, hopelessness, shame, guilt, depression and anxiety are common when one has experienced trauma. Therapy provides the means to process these experiences and reclaim your life.
